Biking

Biking around Taos, New Mexico

Biking around Town is not the most biker or pedestrian friendly, but as traffic is generally fairly bad and slow in town it’s not too terrible to find some space to bike. A few laps around the Plaza is fun and there’s plenty to bike to from there: including to Kit Carson Park, back across Paseo some rounds in the Town Hall / Library lot, through town over to the Harwood and Ledoux, back across Paseo to Monte Sagrado for a treat and beautiful Burch St, then back to the Plaza for some food and drinks. Be careful, stay safe!

West Rim Trail Mountain Biking in the Taos Mesa area, off of the Taos Gorge Bridge parking lot, is a fun trail that is flat for a long time along the mesa and atop the edge of the gorge at times. Good for almost any length out-and-back rides, you can bike all the way one-way to Pilar and shuttle or do the dang thing. Bumpy, can be muddy.

South Boundary Trail Mountain Biking (National Forest in between Taos and Angel Fire)

Taos Ski Valley Mountain Biking offers the full amenity mountain biking experience, including lift rides to the top, amazing downhill mountain biking trails, and apres in an alpine village.
